|
CBA works in local public K-12 schools in various capacities. CBA is developing curriculum about our water
resources that adheres to Sunshine State Standards. As part of this curriculum, CBA provides hands-on
educational opportunities that teach children to care about the environment in which they live. Public Schools (K-12) participating in CBA's Curriculum and Educational Initiatives: Bay Elementary School (Walton County) Freeport High School (Walton County) South Walton High School (Walton County) Butler Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Destin Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Edge Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Edwin's Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Elliott Point Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Kenwood Elementary School (Okaloosa County) Liza Jackson Prep School (Okaloosa County) Bruner Middle School (Okaloosa County) Pryor Middle School (Okaloosa County) Ruckel Middle School (Okaloosa County) Choctawhatchee High School (Okaloosa County) Fort Walton Beach High (Okaloosa County) Collegiate High School at Northwest Florida State College Some schools are participants in a program called "Grasses in Classes." Schools in this program have built seagrass nurseries and reproduction pads as part of the program. Students grow plants native to our shorelines. When plants are ready, students split them, planting half at an identified restoration site where native plants are needed to provide for a healthy natural ecosystem. The other half remains at the school to produce the next generation of restoration plants. |
